1. The dealing function uses a pseudo-random number generating function to select each card at random. This mechanism is un-predictable and is un-exploitable. The hand distribution has been measured over millions of hypothetical hands, and the proportion of hands exactly matches the expected proportions from random shuffling.
2. The card data is contained securely within the game server, fully encrypted. The game runs on a websocket server, and connection to the server is securely and individually managed for every player.
3. The player card information is only "released" individually to each player based on the players' unique and secure connection to the server. The players' connection to the server is verified on the sending and receiving of any data, making it virtually impossible for another player to access the data of any other player.
4. Every player receives a personalised set of card data. No other players receive any other player card information, not even the encrypted card data, during a hand. Simply put, it is not possible for another player to gain access to your card data during a hand.
5. Other player card information is only released from the server during showdown, and only if the player is required to (i.e. if they are all-in or are the hand winner), or has opted to, show their cards. The hand-history, similarly, only shows other players' cards if they were shown during the hand, as played.
6. The board card information is handled in the same way, only being released from the server to the players after the action concludes at each stage of the hand. For instance, the flop card data is only released from the server after the conclusion of flop betting. The same process applies for the turn and river cards.
At Poker On Pi our aim is to deliver a game that is always fair, friendly, and fun. To ensure this, the following rules are actively enforced to ensure the play is fair and friendly. For more details, please see our rules.
Collusion in poker is the act of sharing information with others on the table with the aim of gaining an unfair advantage over other players at the table (doing this is not fair!). Poker On Pi routinely employs collusion detection measures. Any users found engaging in collusion will be suspended or banned without warning and may have their Poker On Pi chips forfeited and returned to the other players.
Poker is a game of strategy, skill and chance. There is no one way to play poker that is right or wrong, and that's part of what makes it such a great game! Players may engage in friendly discussion and banter with each other via the table chat, but these interactions must never become abusive. Poker On Pi routinely monitors for abusive behaviour. Any users engaging in abusive behaviour can be suspended from the site at the discretion of Poker On Pi.
If you get disconnected from the game (i.e. your internet drops out or your phone crashes), do not worry, we have you covered. Re-open pokeronpi.com from the Pi Browser, and login. You will see a "return to game" red flashing button in the top bar. This button will take you straight back to your seat.
If you are playing at a cash table and you get disconnected for more than 10 minutes, you will be automatically removed from the table and your chips will be returned to you.
If you are playing a tournament, your seat in the tournament will be held for you for as long as you still have chips. After around 1-2 minutes of being inactive you will automatically become "sitting-out", and your turns will be skipped. When you are back, click the "I'm Back" button to rejoin the game.
You can exchange Pi coin for Poker On Pi chips on the "Buy Chips" page. This feature is only available from the Pi Browser.
In the Profile menu the avatar icon or avatar tab to change or upload a custom avatar. Custom avatars must be in jpg image format and less than 250kb in size.
The move timer ensures that smooth table play continues by auto folding or dealing hands if a player does not take their turn within the allocated time. Where possible, the player's default action will be checked, but if a player is required to call a bet or raise, their hand will be folded if they do not take their turn in time.
Players are automatically removed from a cash game table if they are inactive for an extended period of time.
When this happens the player is automatically removed from the table and their chips returned to them. This is to protect players who may lose their connection to the game while they are seated at a table, limiting the amount of hands (and blinds) they will pay before being removed from the table.
This also ensures smooth gameplay for the other players at the table, avoiding unnecessary delays.
Tournaments start at a scheduled time and/or when enough players have registered. Players compete until one player has all the chips, with blinds increasing at set intervals to ensure action.
Multi-table tournaments automatically balance tables as players are eliminated. The players who are the last to be knocked out (usually around to 10-15% of the total players) win the most, with the player who win the tournament taking the largest prize
